GradGuard Tuition Insurance

What happens when your education is disrupted by an unexpected injury, illness, or other serious life event?

Depending on the timing of the withdrawal, you may not be eligible to receive a refund for all of your tuition and fees.  That’s where GradGuard comes in!  GradGuard Tuition Insurance strengthens and broadens the scope of Western's existing refund policy, and can help students and parents avoid a financial loss due to an unexpected withdrawal for a serious covered illness, injury, or other covered reason.

  • Loss of employment or death of the tuition payer

Enrollment for GradGuard Tuition Insurance opens after registration begins for each new quarter, and closes at the end of the business day on the fifth day of the quarter. Tuition insurance is offered on a quarterly basis and must be renewed each quarter.

Students or their authorized payers may purchase tuition insurance through their Western Account Online or Authorized Payer Account. To enroll, login to your Western Account Online or Authorized Payer Account and select “Make a Payment.” A GradGuard Tuition Insurance information window will appear, providing the option to either purchase or decline coverage.  If you choose to purchase the insurance, you will be prompted to complete a $120 payment using a debit or credit card.  As your enrollment payment is made directly to GradGuard and not to Western, it must be paid by card and will not appear on student account statements.

Tuition insurance is offered as a completely voluntary benefit and Western is not compensated for this program. Learn more by calling GradGuard at 877-794-6603 or Western's GradGuard Page

Western offers $10,000.00 of tuition insurance for the cost of $120 per quarter.
